It All Started With a Cocktail Napkin…
…in 2015, days away from moving to New York City, while frequenting my favorite Boston cocktail bar, Drink. When I asked the GM Ezra for her favorite speakeasy suggestions, revealing a scheming grin, she grabbed a cocktail napkin and inscribed what would become my most-treasured NYC scavenger hunt: Her curated collection, along with the best version of “find my friends”: “Tell them Ezra sent you!”
I then made it my mission to continue this quest, uncovering the dishes and spaces I couldn't wait to share that would inspire the same grin. Friends will frequently ask, “What’s your favorite downtown date spot that’s lively but not deafening?” “Where’s the best hidden rooftop that won’t have a huge line?” or simply, “Where should I go tonight?”
I realized that not only do I enjoy offering recommendations, but curating a personalized adventure is one of my most rewarding passions. At a time when travelers and townies alike are prioritizing genuine experiences, I’m happy to help you select and embrace your destination with a taste of authenticity and community.
Mike Sent Me is a collection of my favorite restaurants, cocktail bars, hotels, and insider city guides to help you uncover the most satisfying food coma. I will gladly sample and share every “bite” so you can spend less time staring at your screen and more time savoring the experience and supporting local businesses. (As I like to categorize: "Book a flight, see the sights, grab a bite, and stay the night!)
